Razer Official Website
Too expensive for "basics".
I bought this baby back in January of 2012 for $32.65. Like the Ferox, I'm still using my Abyssus at this moment (I kind of like these Razer product names). Although it looks a bit beaten up my Abyssus still works like the day it was born.
Now a little about the Abyssus. It goes up to 3500 dpi. (I only ever use 1800 dpi which I have gotten used to.) It feels super light and maybe even a little cheap but the top part is very soft and rubbery which I like a lot. It has the standard two buttons with one scrolling wheel. General information can be found on the Razer site.
Do I recommend it? Maybe. For a starter mouse it's way too expensive. Unless you really like the appearance and its lightweight there are much better alternatives. For an "expert" mouse it's lacking and "cheap". My experience with my Abyssus has been great though, I love it (and I hope it loves me just as much) for its simple yet chic appearance and its weightlessness. If you want more buttons or craftier design the Abyssus is definitely not for you.

Get from Amazon (for $31.99 and free shipping as of this post.)
Other Razer alternatives (for a bit more) can get you much further.
The Razer DeathAdder (2013 edition is only $57.24 on Amazon!) boasts 2 extra side buttons with up to 6400 dpi and 4G optical sensors. A decent upgrade from the Abyssus. Not to mention the design looks a lot more slick. Also the Abyssus is the only one with a normal rubber cord while all these other mice have double braided cords and a gold plated usb.
The Razer Imperator ($68.24 on Amazon) (personally not a fan of its appearance) is similar to the DeathAdder, however it contains two more buttons on top and a 4G dual sensor, both optical and laser.
The Orochi ($59.43 on Amazon, better deal than the DeathAdder in my opinion) has four extra side buttons with 4G laser sensors but that's not its selling point. The Orochi can be used both via wireless bluetooth or wired! Splendid wireless mouse.
Finally the Taipan ($69.99 on Amazon) boasts six extra buttons and up to 8200 dpi, 4G dual sensors! It also looks really cool.
These are only some of the great mice (from Razer) available. Next time let's explore other brands,
